Aurelio Major is a Spanish-language poet, translator and editor based in Barcelona.

Major was editorial director of the publishing house associated with Octavio Paz’s magazine Vuelta and later editorial director of the Mexican branch of Tusquets Editores. In 2003, he co-founded Granta en español with Valerie Miles. He has also worked as an editor and curator on projects devoted to Octavio Paz and has participated in literary festivals, conferences and prize juries in Spain and Latin America.
As a poet, he is the author of Trifulca (2013) and Pródromo (2019). His writing has appeared in publications including Vuelta, Letras Libres, El País, La Vanguardia, Granta and Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos.
Major has translated writers including Susan Sontag, Eliot Weinberger, David Rieff and Basil Bunting into Spanish, and has anthologized the work of Edmund Wilson, Ida Vitale, Tomás Segovia and others. His translations and editorial work have appeared alongside his own poetry and critical writing.
He teaches in the Master in Publishing program at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.
